About The Speaker

Ms. Nahla Zeitoun

Nahla Zeitoun has seventeen years of experience working with UNDP Egypt internalizing and operationalizing universal sustainable human development concepts, as relevant to socio-economic and cultural contexts, designing and monitoring projects and providing policy advice and analysis. She is currently the UNDP Assistant Resident Representative and the Poverty Reduction Team Leader.Professional Experience include coordinating the 2008 and 2010 Egypt Human Development Reports, the 2007 Business Solutions for Human Development Report and the 2010 Millennium Development Goals Report. Ms. Zeitoun is also supporting projects in the areas of Poverty Reduction and job creation, Social Protection, Private Sector Development and Private Sector Engagement, Youth Engagement and Gender Empowerment. Ms. Zeitoun was awarded the Sasaskawa Fellow for Young Leaders Award in 2002 and has a Masters of Arts Degree in Sociology from the American University of Cairo. She is also a member of the Human Development and Capability Association. Ms. Zeitoun is an Egyptian National, married with two children.
