Dr. Walaa Gad Elkarim
Dr. Walaa Gad Elkarim is a Member of the National Council for Human Rights in Egypt from October 2021, holds a PhD in Rural Sociology from Ain Shams University, graduate of the International Visitor leadership Program (IVLP) in the United States of America, and has about 20 years of experience in the areas of social development, human rights, decentralization , social & environmental safeguards and risk Management at development projects funded by international financial institutions and managing social development projects. He is currently the Director of the Central Unit of the President's Initiative for the Development of the Egyptian Rural "Hayat Karima" since December 2019, Director of the Environmental and Social safeguards Component at the Upper Egypt Local “UELDP” partially funded by the World Bank since January 2018, and a founding partner of Estidama for Research and Feasibility Studies. "Gad Al-Karim" has a large number of studies, research, articles and policy papers published in a number of newspapers and websites on the topics of local development, human rights and political analysis.
