Shahinaz Ahmed is the Country Director for AMIDEAST’s field operation in Egypt. Ms. Ahmed, who is based in Cairo, takes charge of AMIDEAST’s largest field operation, with offices in Cairo and Alexandria, as well as its oldest. Under her leadership, AMIDEAST/Egypt, continues its commitment to meeting Egypt’s growing need for educational and training opportunities, especially for youth, women, and less advantaged groups. Ms. Ahmed has over 20 years of experience in the areas of international education development, educational management, workforce development, and instructional systems design. She helped to establish Education for Employment Foundation (EFE) in Egypt and served as its CEO for seven years, overseeing the design and implementation of EFE’s employment-driven educational programs for unemployed youth. Previously, Ms. Ahmed served as an independent educational planning and training consultant, advising clients including Citibank, UNICEF, and the Egyptian Tourism Federation. She has held positions with the American University in Cairo, the Fulbright Commission, and the Arab Academy for Science and Technology. Ms. Ahmed has a Master of Arts in Education and International Development from the University of London and a Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from the American University in Cairo. In addition, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Alexandria University.
