Dr. Abeer Shakweer
Dr. Abeer Shakweer is the advisor to the Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Social Responsibility and Services. She holds a Ph.D., in Environmental Engineering, and a M.Sc. in Computer Science, both form Nottingham University in the UK. She is the advisor to Scientific Research and Innovation Strategic Unit at MisrElKheir Foundation, and worked as the Planning and Monitoring Manager and head of international cooperation at the Science and Technology Development Fund (STDF), and as the executive director for the center for future studies at the Cabinet Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC). Dr. Shakweer participated in many national and international projecs including: The establishment of the first EU innovation fund in Egypt, the Research, Development and Innovation Programme; The EU project (Innovation Foresight for MEDA Partners in the European Research Area (INNFORMED)), The Commercialization of Egyptian Technologies with the IC2 institute at the Univesrsity of Texas, The development of the Egyptian Industrial Innovation Strategy for the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and the National Innovation Strategy for the Egyptian National Competitiveness Council. Dr. Shakweer is the deputy head of the Entrepreneurship Council of the Egyptian National Competitiveness Council, and a board member of the Arab Academy for young scientists.
